Description: Our systems of environmental and public health, safety, and protection regulations, policies, and practices that include land use, monitoring, permitting, and enforcement – have been dominated and governed by practices that center on one pollutant at a time and individual sources of pollution. This myopic approach has contributed greatly to environmental injustice. To achieve environmental justice and improve health, it is imperative we transform our regulatory system to acknowledge the myriad of socioeconomic stressors and conditions that synergistically and disproportionately impact overburdened communities.
You will hear and learn from the following environmental justice grassroots leaders and experts
In the times of the COVID-19, Los Jardines Institute continues the essential work of farming to produce food for our communities. We continue fighting against environmental and economic racism and the economic and social injustices our communities confront every day. Our people are strong, resilient, and loving. We will persevere as we support each other, our organizations, families, and communities. Be safe and know that you are not alone.
